Management in Food and Nutrition Systems Sponsor-A-Member Campaign

The Management in Food and Nutrition Services (MFNS) DPG is introducing our Sponsor-A-Member campaign. MFNS members include the best leaders in our profession, and we would like to encourage current MFNS members to reach out and encourage non-members to join DPG 41.

_____

Will You Invest in the Career Development of Other RDNs?
Dietitians in management and leadership positions need support, comradery, and guidance. MFNS has the resources and members to welcome and nurture RDN’s and NDTR’s that are new to leadership positions or aspiring to become managers during their career. Success and enjoyment of management positions is enhanced when a leader is supported, encouraged and provided networks with other leaders. Together we all grow!

_____
In addition to supporting friends and colleagues, consider paying the membership fees for your employees. Research suggests that paying for professional development programs improves employee satisfaction, retention, and confidence in their ability to do their jobs (Harvard Division of Continuing Education, 2022). Employees like to know their supervisor is invested in their career development.

_____
How Would This Work?

  • The MFNS member recruits another RDN or NDTR to join DPG 41, Management in Food and Nutrition Systems DPG. The recruit must be a current academy member. Click here for instructions
  • To join our DPG, the new member will pay the $35 membership fee, or $15 student fee, print or save the confirmation of payment and communicate the payment to the sponsoring member.
  • The sponsoring member will personally reimburse the new MFNS member.
  • We ask the sponsoring member to communicate the successful recruitment to our Membership Chair, Sherry Simon at sherry.simon@bswhealth.org. We will collect data and report the number of new members that were recruited during the campaign. As leaders in our industry, it is incumbent on us to foster the leaders that will follow us. We believe MFNS has the tools to assist young leaders, but they may not be aware of our practice group and our mission specifically to leadership and career development.
